The Community Car Scheme is coming to the Matlock and Darley Dale area but to allow us to provide the service we need your help.
The Community Car Scheme was established by Bakewell and Eyam Community Transport and operates from an office in Great Longstone.
The overall aim of the Car Scheme is to provide a high quality, caring, and responsive service, which will enhance the lifestyles of people suffering from the effects of transport isolation.
The Scheme utilises, and is entirely reliant upon, local car owners who volunteer their time to assist people who experience difficulty in accessing transport, due to a variety of reasons including medical and personal. These volunteers not only act as drivers but also provide aid and support to all our passengers.
Could you be a Volunteer driver for the Car Scheme? Do you have a car and a few hours to spare? No regular commitment required - Journeys to suit - long or short - GP, Health Centre, Hospital - Dentist or Optician - Complementary therapies etc etc. All mileage driven is reimbursed.
The Car Scheme service is provided by volunteers using their own vehicles and is available for anyone who has a transport need due to age, illness or mobility, or who struggles with public transport timetable restrictions or accessibility.
