Thanks to a Derbyshire County Council grant contribution from the Local Transport Plan programme, Ashbourne Community Transport (ACT) is to take delivery of a new vehicle in June 2010.
The vehicle – a 15 seater Mercedes Sprinter – will have all modern facilities to enable full access and comfort and ease of ride.
The contribution from the county council is in support of new services which are being developed in the southern Derbyshire Dales. Already Dial-a-Bus services are on offer to these villages and it is hoped that with the arrival of the new vehicle additional services such as access to hospital and GP appointments will be available.
