Bakewell and Eyam Community Transport (BECT) is a registered charity based in the Bakewell area which provides essential transport for people with disabilities, elderly people and community groups.
We have a team of staff and volunteers who are committed to providing transport for everyone who cannot easily use other public transport services.
We have 11 buses and a wheelchair accessible car. We also operate a Car Scheme, where our volunteers use their own cars to provide transport.
We provide services in rural Derbyshire, from the Hope Valley in the north down to Matlock, Winster and Elton in the south, from Buxton in the west to the North East Derbyshire district.
We have launched the "Friends" which gives individuals the opportunity to become involved. The Friends of BECT now have over 100 members.
Bakewell and Eyam Community have been able to install a state of the art rainwater harvesting system which enables all of the vehicles to be washed efficiently and safely using rainwater thanks to funding from the Peak District Sustainable Development, Awards for All and Yorkshire and Clydesdale Bank Foundation. This ground breaking project demonstrates how a transport operator can make use of rainwater constructively.
Tours are available throughout the year. Contact us for details or download our Scenic Tours programme from related documents below.
